Three P's

When discussing gospel topics with anyone particularly your spouse, it is important to remember the three P's.

Principle
Program
Practices

What is the gospel principle?
What is the church program?
What are the practices to support the gospel principle and church program?

The gospel principle is family is the central to God's plan. The church program that support the family is Family Home Evening (FHE). The practices are the way we do FHE in our home with our family.

Always in the MIDDLE

Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, our souls will exist for an eternity. If we look at our lives "against the backdrop of eternity" as President Uchtdorf states, "we are always in the middle." Often times I look at my life as either the beginning  or the end of something as many of us naturally do. However, I have come to believe that if we look at our lives as being in the middle then we will realize, as I have done, that it is not to late to make a difference or to change. It is not to late to have hope or to fight for right.  It is not to late to engage in a better cause now.

Forever - is composed of Nows

Alma 34:32
"this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men   to perform their labors"

Lets us do our best. Let us not dwell on the past. Let us not wait for the next thing to happen. Let us engage in a good cause now. Let us make changes in our lives now. Let us have hope now. Let us experience joy now.

Psalm 118:24
"This is the day which the Lord hath made: we [should] rejoice and be glad in it"

"We do not doubt our mothers knew it."

Two thousand stripling young men went into battle to defend their liberty, their families, and their freedom. They were protected by God because they had faith in him. Their mothers had taught them and they did not doubt that God would deliver them.

Alma 57:26
...And we do justly ascribe it to the miraculous power of God, because of their exceeding faith in that which they had been taught to believe - that there was a just God, and whosoever did not doubt, that they should be preserved by his marvelous power.

Alma 57:27
...they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually.

 Today, our children go into battle everyday as they face the worldly temptations of Satan that are all around them. As a mother, I only want the best for my children and pray that through my example and teachings they will develop faith in Christ, trust in their Heavenly Father, and a desire to do good continually.

Captain Moroni

"Men and women who turn their lives over to God will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace" (The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1988], p. 361).

Captain Moroni was:
 - strong
 - a mighty man
 - understanding
 - a man who did not delight in bloodshed
 - a man whose soul did joy in the liberty and freedom of his country
 - a thankful man, always giving thanks to his God
 - a hard worker and did labor for the welfare and safety of his people
 - a man who had firm faith in Jesus Christ

Alma 48:17
 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.

My Heart Rejoices this Easter Season

He is Risen Hymn

Said the angel, “He is risen!”
Tell it out with joyful voice:
He has burst His three days’ prison;
Let the whole wide earth rejoice:
Death is conquered, we are free,
Christ has won the victory.

Come, ye sad and fearful hearted,
With glad smile and radiant brow!
Death’s long shadows have departed;
All our woes are over now,
Due to passion that He bore
Sin and pain can vex no more.

Come, with high and holy hymning,
Chant our Lord’s triumphant day;
Not one darksome cloud is dimming
Yonder glorious morning ray,
Breaking over the purple east:
Brighter far our Easter feast.

He is risen, He is risen!
He has opened heaven’s gate:
We are free from sin’s dark prison,
Risen to a holier state;
And a brighter Easter beam
On our longing eyes shall stream.

Daughters In My Kingdom

    "When we choose to keep God's commandments, we honor Him      and acknowledge our identity as daughters of God.
    (Visiting Teaching Message, March 2012)"

As I have ponder how I can reach my potential as a daughter of God, I have realized that first I must understand and feel that I truly am a daughter of God. I have a Heavenly Father that know me, loves me, and has a plan for me.

I have come to realize that Satan is working hard to destroy the divinity of women. You see, if he can at all make us think that we are not important or that we do not have a purpose, he not only will have destroyed the salvation of one soul, but of a family and even a community. The influence of a righteous woman who understands her divinity is far reaching. Please understand that you are a daughter of God!

Motherhood Is Eternal

"Female roles did not begin on earth, and they do not end here. A woman who treasures motherhood on earth will treasure motherhood in the world to come, and 'where [her] treasure is, there will [her] hear be also' (Matthew 6:21). By developing a mother heart, each girl and woman prepares for her divine, eternal mission of motherhood."
Julie B. Beck

My heart was touched by this quote as I read it. There are so many wonderful and amazing women in this world who do not have the opportunity to give birth or raise children, however, I believe that God has a plan for each of us and does give each of us opportunities for motherhood.
